Putting in the Work: A Special Announcement

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

There is a motor that all great salespeople possess. It comes down to the tenacity they have to do the job well, a focus on their customer’s success and an overall accountability. The great thing about sales is it’s something you can work at. With sales as a profession, we’re often only limited by the amount of work we are able to put in. That’s why Force Management is launching our new product - a platform solely for salespeople who own a quota. Anyone can subscribe. In this episode, John Kaplan and Rachel Clapp Miller talk through Force’s new product.

There is a need outside of what your companies are doing for you. There is a need for those that are, you know, just striving to be the very best that they can be. You're listening to the audible ready podcast, the show that helps you and your teams sell more faster. We'll feature sales leaders sharing their best insights on how to create a sales engine that helps you fuel repeatable revenue growth, presented by the team at force management, a leader in B two B sales effectiveness. Let's get started. Hello and welcome to the audible ready sales podcast. I'm Rachel Clapp Miller. I am so looking forward to this conversation today because we are going to talk about some new initiatives with force management, as well as putting in the work. John Kaplan joins me. Hi John, Hey, Rachel, how are you? I'm excited for this little announcement today. Yes, yes, so John. We...

...we talk a lot about salespeople having a motor, and there is a motor that great salespeople have, and it comes down to the tenacity they have to do the job well, a focus on their customers success and usually an overall this accountability. I wonder. I would like to ask you when you've interviewed salespeople in the pastport for a role. Is that something that you can just spot within somebody? Well, I think so. Um, maybe sometimes not overtly, but when you really dig into people you see the commonality is is that there is a curiosity to learn. So there is a definite trend of people that are on a continuous learning path. There are people that Um what I call embrace the grind Um and and they get like they get energy from...

...the process of being the very best they can be. It doesn't take energy away from them, it kind of gives them energy and then, you know, Rachel, it's it's amazing. There is a big difference in the people that believe that they are responsible for their own success, their own development. They don't look to others too, they don't abdicate that responsibility. So those are definitely commonalities that I see and in people that are striving to be the most elite that they can be. That you mentioned the Grind Uh. It is important to point out that sales is something that you can work at. Um, you can put in the work. We recently did a podcast about owning your success and it really applies to the sales profession. Many of us are set up in roles where the more we sell, the more are we...

...make, and in some ways there's really no limit to you our success. We're often only limited by the amount of work we're able to put into it. Yeah, I'm so grateful for the profession of sales. When I was in college, I was a college athlete and I wasn't sure. I knew I wanted to do something in business, but I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do. When I was I was introduced to this, the career of sales, and it was amazing to me because there's a direct correlation to it. was just like sports. The harder you worked, the better chance you had at playing, and and and so it didn't mean that it was a guarantee that you're going to play, but if you didn't put into work, you definitely weren't going to play. And when I became an adult Um you know, or out in the adult world, if you will, I saw a definite correlation of sales for me and the career business. There was...

...a definite correlation to the more effort you put in, the greater chance at success that you're going to have and then, Um, I really understood the principle of fundamentals and what I took for granted for fundamentals in my athletic career. I really saw a great correlation in the business world is that those people that mastered the fundamentals were always the most successful. I remembered back in my college days and then I certainly have seen it in my business days. The ones that have mastered the fundamentals and committed themselves to mastering the fundamentals are always the most successful and the mostly yes, so it's it's with that spirit that we are so excited to talk about our new product, a sender by force management to the applause track. Yeah, as sender is an online subscription platform...

...that is meant solely for the individual contributor, no matter your company. The platform has three parts. The first daily content. We are updating the platform every day with the content that you've come to know here on the audible ready sales podcast. It will be very similar, just more of it and it won't just be podcasts. It will be videos, blogs, maybe some memes here and there that I'll throw in with John's image right, but it will be updated every day. As sender. Will also have curriculum courses you can take to up your game, negotiation best practices, being deep in discovery sales best practices and a complete medic certification course that you can add to your own resume. And finally, it will have a community integration built right into the platform, so you can ask questions of our own experts, discuss topics and ask other salespeople what's working for them. John, I know we've been working on this a while. We're really excited it. It's such a great day...

...for all of us, Rachel, and for, you know, for for the folks out there, because the people out there that have been bombarding us for years. This has been in the making for a long time and people have been um just asking us, is there what else can I be doing to be the very best that I can be? How do I be a great student of the game? What books should I read? What? And so there's just what we found was there is a need outside of what your companies are doing for you. There is a need for those that are, you know, just striving to be the very best that they can be. And I'm really, really excited about this because, like you said, not only does it have outstanding content, not only will it have unbelievable connections to just part of personal motivation and and things that will just want to make you strive to be the best that you can be, it's also going to be one of the things I'm very excited about is this connection to a community of...

...others that are like minded like you are, and that are also striving to be the very best that they can be. And I believe that that community part is just gonna take over and take it to the next level. So hats off to all the people out there that have been asking us for years about something like this and to the force management team for being able to pull it off. It's a really, really exciting, exciting concept for us. That's not a concept anymore. It's launched, so right. Well, our our waiting list has launched. We're building a wait list for the platform and you can get on it to a sender dot co sign up. We'll have that list and once we actually open up the platform to subscribers, you'll be able to access the founder circle rate when we launched. I know you've been doing this as well as I have, John, going back through all of our linkedin messages of people saying Hey, do you have anything for individuals, and now I can write them back and say yes, we do, yeah,...

...yeah, it's it's uh, like I said, Um and like we've said, this is a really exciting day. Make sure that you get in early. I believe this is going to turn into the greatest certification platform of those sales skills, and so just being a part of this community is not only going to take you to the next level, but it's going to also kind...

...of brand view as being somebody that's in that in that mindset, which other people out there in the world are going to be interested to know who you are.
